Religious Crafts – Fun way to know religion

Diwali religious raftsReligion is something everybody should know properly. Religious education promotes tolerance to people from almost all religions. On the other hand, craft is a form of creativity – it oozes out the creative ideas, innovations and thought processes of a person. From a simple birthday card to a big wall hanging, crafts are a good way to be beautiful by making things look beautiful.

Thus, Religious Crafts are a beautiful way to know what religion is and to understand what it actually preaches. Reading the holy books or listening to the religious chants might not always be or sound interesting to a person. So he prefers to keep himself away from such situations. But if religion is taught in a fun way then there would hardly be anyone who would refuse to be a part of it. There are many ways in which the Religious Crafts can be made.
Religious Crafts

1. Kids might not like to hear or read the religious books. But their parents on the other hand want them to know their religion and grow with a better understanding of life. There stands a solution to this conflict. What if the same books that preach religion are represented in a creative way? For examples:
  • A paper ‘caterpillar’ with six body segments holding six religious phrases.
  • It may also be a story book which teaches a moral at the end or conveys a religious message which would have been difficult to make them understand in any alternative way.

2. The toddlers too need to develop interest in religion and if they are creative in nature, they can easily be made to work on some or be gifted with one, to convey the desired message.
For example:
  • A simple hanging cross or an angel with her wand with a message written on them may work wonders.
  • A craft work as a gift on any occasion can also bear a religious concept like honesty in life or just the goodwill for forgiveness.

3. Adults are no exceptions in this regard. They can make Religious Crafts as well and use them whenever needed. For example:
  • When someone wants to pray to God for many wishes, each such wish can be placed in a separate page of a beautifully decorated book as craft work.
  • Even a simple painting of any religious theme can be helpful in knowing religion beautifully and interestingly.
